Our Story
Founded by Joseph and Ruth Poupon in 1986, our pâtisserie began as a small bakery on East Baltimore Street in Baltimore, Maryland.
Originally from Brittany, France, Joseph brought his experience and passion for French pastry to Baltimore, establishing a bakery dedicated to classic recipes, skilled craftsmanship, and exceptional desserts.
Over the years, Pâtisserie Poupon became a destination for everything from a morning croissant to an elaborate cake for life's most important celebrations. Our Georgetown location opened in the late 1990s, bringing that same tradition to Washington, DC.
Our Pastries
Our pastry chefs continue to make cakes, croissants, tarts, éclairs, and miniature French pastries using traditional techniques and recipes refined over decades.
From our signature Fraisier and delicate Napoleons to our seasonal Bûches de Noël, we believe in preserving the craftsmanship and character of classic French pâtisserie.
Forty Years of Celebrations
For four decades, we've had the privilege of being part of birthdays, weddings, holidays, family gatherings, and everyday moments worth celebrating.
As we mark our 40th anniversary in 2026, we're proud to continue this tradition from our pâtisseries in Baltimore and Georgetown.
Whether you're visiting for the first time or have been coming to Poupon for generations, we look forward to welcoming you.
